During an emotional time, she sat and listened to me about my concerns. Allison is thoughtful and considerate.
Allison is AMAZING! It takes a special person with an extremely compassionate heart to do the work that nurses do every day! Allison has the heart but also has an incredible attitude as she cares for those who are ill!
My son, J, has been in the hospital for eight days. He had pneumonia and a collapsed lung due to a buildup of fluid. J has Down syndrome and autism. His communication is limited, and his cognitive skills are around 3-5 years old. Explaining what needs to be done while in the hospital (shots, IV chest tubes, oxygen, etc.) is a challenge. Allison, like I said, is AMAZING and NEVER GIVES UP. She lets me help her by asking me to help read his mood and if or when he will be receptive to allowing her to give him a shot, change his dressing, or give him IV fluid. She has been so kind, understanding, professional, extremely patient, and positive. All this makes her fantastic to work with.
As a team, she has helped make our hospital stay as good as possible! We believe God sends the right people into your lives just when you need them. We call them our angels! We are very thankful and blessed to have had the chance to have Allison in our lives, even for this short amount of time.
Allison took outstanding care of my son during our stay and also made the time to ask me how I was doing and if I needed anything. During an emotional time, she sat and listened to me about my concerns. Allison is thoughtful and considerate.
Allison has been there for both of us, and we are grateful. We would like to recognize her for the DAISY Award. Allison went above and beyond to give us a positive experience during our stay at HCA Memorial. Allison is an extraordinary asset to your HCA Memorial Hospital team.
