Ally listens. If you tell her you're afraid of anything, she'll have a dialogue with you until you're confident or less afraid and able to go to sleep.
I recently relapsed with AML Leukemia. I was in the hospital for 6 days. There have been significant changes in the staff since my original set of treatments. This time being admitted was extra terrifying because we were aware of the risks and the likelihood the treatment could fail, and I could die. Of ALL the younger staff on the oncology floor, Ally went above and beyond. She sets the bar extra high in her level of care and compassion with patients. To me, she's an exceptional role model for her peers and her colleagues could learn from her example.
Ally listens. If you tell her you're afraid of anything, she'll have a dialogue with you until you're confident or less afraid and able to go to sleep. She was a stranger to me when we met. She became like a daughter through our endless chats. Ally was the single reason I tried to hold on and not quit treatments. I would like one positive thing to come out of my experience at Parkview on Dupont Rd. Ally was like having a co-warrior.
