In the Nursing Profession, there are individuals who not only excel in the performance of duties and responsibilities but also embody the essence of compassionate care. Civ HR Candelario is undeniably one these remarkable individuals whose utmost dedication in caring for her patients and strong camaraderie with her peers set her apart as an exemplar of nursing excellence.
Civ HR Candelario is currently the Assistant Head Nurse of the Medical Ward. She was designated as Acting Head Nurse of the said area from February to March 2024 when the Head Nurse, Medical Ward was on schooling. She has been a staff nurse at Fernando Air Base Hospital for almost 19 years now. Prior to his regularization as a Nurse I, she was a former active Nurse Corps Officer in the AFP. Her leadership is by leading an example. Through her actions and words, she cultivates the trust and confidence of her team members creating a collaborative work environment. In every activity set forth by the hospital and command, she actively participates and shares her ideas and concepts, and leads the team motivating them to cooperate as well. Her discipline and professionalism are truly applaudable. She has a good working relationship with her colleagues where she always gives a positive aura whatever the situation is.
During the surge of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Civ HR Candelario was at the forefront of battling the virus, demonstrating resilience, compassion, and dedication. She worked tirelessly and selflessly in providing care not only to patients but also to their families. Despite the challenges brought about by COVID-19, she continued to report day after day, putting the needs of her patients above her own. She admittedly experienced personal psychological and emotional challenges but was able to overcome them because she knows that her patients and their families need her services. Civ HR Candelario participated in various outreach programs and distribution of relief goods in communities. She also personally gave in kind assistance to AETDC Families who are isolated.
Moreover, Civ HR Candelario possesses a depth of clinical knowledge and skills. She demonstrates sound judgment and critical thinking in the performance of her duties and responsibilities, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care. Aside from being a competent nurse, she is also known to be an empathic nurse. One noteworthy deed she has done was when she received an emergency call from a friend during her OFF DUTY where a bedridden patient residing inside the air base was in respiratory distress. She hastily responded and, without hesitation, did a one-man carry and rushed the patient to the Emergency Room of FABH, where she helped in the care and management. The scenario not only proved her as a highly skilled and competent nurse but also a compassionate nurse who is always ready to lend a hand when needed.
