Nurse Alondra was very attentive to my wife in the ICU area once she was discharged from surgery (cerebral angiogram with embolization) on Tuesday. Nurse Alondra was assigned to care for my wife and she always made regular visits to check on my wife during recovery. She continuously monitored my wife's vitals and explained how to read the monitor when asked about all the colorful numbers. The nurse answered questions to help clarify all of our concerns during our stay.

But above all, my wife had a horrible episode within a couple of hours following the cerebral angiogram procedure where she vomited a dark, bloody-colored substance, turned pale-faced, and had clammy skin. My wife appeared to be dying right before my eyes. I was terrified! My wife's blood pressure began to drop to a dangerously low level. I watched Nurse Alondra's quick reaction. She immediately recognized this, summoned assistance from nearby staff, and she began working on my wife immediately to restore her vitals. Within seconds, a team of nurses and physicians arrived, and everyone began providing emergency support to my wife. Her blood pressure had dropped to 30/20. I could not believe what was happening right before my eyes.

I am so honored to have had Nurse Alondra in the room (making frequent patient rounds) and having acted swiftly, and appropriately to prevent my wife from possibly dying. This was a very surprising and certainly frightening encounter. I owe a debt of gratitude to Nurse Alondra for saving my wife's life. Her care, concern, swift actions, and appropriate actions made all the difference and this means so much to me and to my wife. I am extremely grateful for Nurse Alondra's actions and I want to express out profound gratitude. Nurse Alondra is a very fine nurse, and I am happy that she prevented a possible tragedy in my family. Thank you for having Nurse Alondra onboard! A huge thanks to the entire team who responded during this emergency situation. Great TEAM! Great TEAMWORK!
