When I was admitted, I was pretty much resigned that I might lose my leg. I was so scared and afraid because this was my 3rd surgery on the same knee in less than 6 months. Being alone and scared is the worst feeling you can have in life. I wanted to nominate Debby for this award because she reassured me that God had a plan for me, and it was not to lose my leg. Her caring and compassionate manner left me feeling less anxious and scared, and I now know that she was correct. My knee is healing (finally), and I’m going to a rehab facility to further my healing. With Debby’s faith and excellent nursing skills, I’m finally on the way to recovery. During my stay she was very gentle, professional, courteous, respectful and kept me informed of my care. It makes a scary stay into a calming one when you have a member of the nursing staff you can trust and rely on to tell you the truth. Debby deserves this DAISY Award because of her kindness, compassion, courteousness, professionalism, and excellent nursing skills. Thank you.
