I just got into a horrible accident. I was a pedestrian crossing the street and got hit by a bus. I'm in my last semester of nursing school and I broke my hip and femur. It felt as if my world ended that day. Alycea provided me with the most empathy I have ever received in my life. She sat there with me, let me cry, and talk about my sadness regarding having to put my life on pause for an accident that was not my fault. She never minimized any emotion and was the definition of what a caring nurse is. Anytime I was in pain she always made sure to act on it immediately and provide me with the interventions to help stop and prevent further pain. She is the definition of a compassionate and caring nurse.
