She had the best attitude, was funny, and helped us understand breastfeeding, a time schedule, and jaundice.
My baby was born four weeks early at 35 weeks. We ended up having to stay in the hospital for five days. Every night, except for one, we got the same night nurse – Alysia Bigler. She gave me so much support in everything. I wasn’t producing the first two days and was getting very emotional from it, feeling like I was failing. Alysia would sit there and help talk me through it and comfort me. She was always cheering me on. My baby had a couple of issues we needed to work out before leaving, and she was there through everything, cheering my baby and me on the entire journey we had. She had the best attitude, was funny, and helped us understand breastfeeding, a time schedule, and jaundice. She even cheered and celebrated with us when my baby finally started eating enough, and I started actually producing. She made us look forward to the nights instead of dreading them because she was so personable and easy to talk to. By the end, we had actually formed a friendship. We had many nurses, but Alysia really did everything and rose above and beyond to help us in every way she could. For my next baby, I’ll be returning to SJMC and requesting her.
