I was lucky enough to have Alyssa Baldi advocate for me when the Doctor was trying to send me home on a Friday with my own Bipap machine but we were unsure if it was working correctly. Alyssa was in constant communication with the case manager, but Alyssa ended up taking on that role, too. She called the facility to make sure I was able to get my machine evaluated. I was already admitted 2nd time due to my Bipap machine not working and Alyssa was working really hard to make sure I was going to get the help I needed before I get discharged so I wouldn't have to come back for the same thing again. Alyssa attempted once again to call Lincare not only to stay open after hours but also so I could go directly to them after being discharged to ensure I had the right equipment. Once I arrived at Lincare after hours (as arranged by Alyssa), it was confirmed that my machine had not been working properly. Without her advocating for me, I probably would have come back another 2 times. I am most grateful for her knowledge, kindness, and exceptional care for me and the amount of time she put in while trying to make sure I was able to get everything situated before being discharged. A nurse who makes you feel you are the only patient is someone who deserves the world.
