I would like to especially commend RN Alyssa Lichten. She is truly a shining star and stood out amongst all the RNs encountered, and L was fortunate to have her on duty for 4 days.:

1.      She introduced herself to each patient and family member and greeted them all by name.  I would sit for hours each day and routinely came around and ask, “Do you need anything?"  L had many roommates come and go during his 12-day stint, and yet she made the time to get to know each patient and their needs.

2.      Alyssa’s calm demeanor was evident. When she said, “I’ll be back,” you could be assured she would be.

3.      Alyssa would encourage and make sure L did not stay in bed all day and had him in the reclining chair.

4.      Alyssa would also ensure he ate some of his breakfast before I would get there.
