Amanda is the best nurse I have had the pleasure to work with on the CVPCU. She works hard and is always positive no matter what situation she encounters. She uses her charm and humor to keep staff and patients happy and healthy. Amanda shows a genuine interest in her patients. She has spent her own money to get patients special treats. I know if she is in charge she will ensure that the night will go smoothly. She goes out of her way to answer call lights, lend a hand and ensure that all goes well for her patients as well as the patients on the entire floor. No matter whether a patient is difficult or easy to deal with Amanda listens and treats each patient with the same care and concern that they deserve.

As a Tech I informed Amanda that one of her patients mentioned she was depressed and going through a tough time. Amanda was aware of the situation that had caused this patient to feel this way and spent over an hour out of her busy schedule lending a sympathetic ear to this patient. She was gentle and sweet, asking the patient about her outside interests and discussing the patient's animals that were waiting for the patient upon discharge. She looks at each patient as a person and gets to know them.
