Amanda was nominated by a patient who brought her daughter into the emergency room because she was not eating or using the bathroom. What the mother thought was just a stomach bug, Amanda thought it might be something different. The doctor was going to send the child home, but Amanda talked with him and convinced him to admit the child as it could be something serious. Because of her knowledge and concern the child was admitted and her health declined over night. By morning she was transferred to Arkansas Children's Hospital and after numerous tests they discovered she had a rare disease. The family firmly believes that if it wasn't for Amanda's help they might not have their daughter today. Thank you Amanda!
