There is a statement on the wall of the hallway outside of my room that says, in part: ‘To our patients, the goal of every employee at San Joaquin General Hospital is to provide quality medical care and treat patients and visitors with courtesy and respect.’

The last few words of that statement are where Amanda really shines!  What appears to be the final goal, care wise, of many of the staff here is the bare minimum for Amanda.  Not only has she read the progress notes and assessments for her patients, but she appears to be ready at the drop of a hat to do an SBAR report to a physician.  She personally stopped in, ready to be an advocate for me during morning rounds and appeared ready and willing to answer questions and even get updates to any questions I might ask.  

With Amanda as my nurse, I found my stress level to be at its lowest; at least in regard to my level of care and understanding of the care that I was receiving.

All the while, Amanda showcased her talents with a pleasant attitude, quick wit, and cheerful disposition that never failed to impress me. She often made me smile with joy and happiness.
