I am writing to recommend Amanda L. wholeheartedly for recognition for her outstanding care during my hospital stay. Amanda made me feel safe in a time that was incredibly scary and overwhelming. She treated me as a person, not just another patient, offering care, compassion, and invaluable advice that made all the difference. One of the first things Amanda did was offer me a real shower, which may seem simple but was a vital step in helping me regain my sense of normalcy. Her willingness to assist with so many other needs throughout my stay was remarkable. She approached each task with genuine warmth and a sweet personality that instantly put me at ease.

What stood out most about Amanda was her dedication to her role. She didn’t just see nursing as a job; she treated it as a vocation, a calling. This was evident in how she cared for me, always going above and beyond. I felt genuinely safe around her, which is invaluable in a hospital setting. During my second night, I experienced uncontrollable chills, and when the doctor suggested they were merely due to anxiety, Amanda stood up for me. She advocated on my behalf, confidently asserting that I knew my body better than anyone else. Thanks to her insistence, the doctor agreed to discontinue the IV medication that was causing my discomfort, and the chills stopped. This experience showed me that Amanda wasn’t just following orders; she was truly my advocate, ensuring I received the care I needed.
