Amber was not only there for my daughter, she was there for the whole family. She made us feel seen and heard.
Nomination 1:
We have so much to say about her. She is an outstanding nurse and an incredibly sweet woman. She was my son’s nurse when he was newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at a very early age of 20 months old. My mother and I didn't think we would ever learn to take care of my son the way he needed to be because it was so overwhelming and we were so scared and nervous. She taught us sooooo much and was so sweet through it all. She gave us the courage we would have never believed we had. My son was recently admitted back into the hospital and we were so lucky to get to have her as his nurse again. He is so comfortable and happy when he's with her. She makes us all feel so at ease and we know he's in the best care with her. we appreciate Amber so much! My son had a quick sugar drop and even though Amber was not his nurse that day she ran into the room to do everything she could to help and calmed not only him down but us too. Another way she is always so amazing to us we could go on and on about Amber she is such a wonderful nurse and an amazing person. We nominate you for the award that you truly deserve!
Nomination 2:
When you have a child in the hospital, it is never easy on the parents the siblings or the child. My daughter has been admitted at least six times this year. During her last admission it was really hard on us as a family and I want to tell you about her nurse who made it 1 million times easier. Amber was not only there for my daughter, she was there for the whole family. She made us feel seen and heard. She kept my daughter safe and made her feel so special. She never seemed rushed and always listen to my daughter's needs as well as mine and my husband's. Amber went out of her way to always be there for us and to make sure that we were OK. She went out of her way when me, her mom, made a lapse in judgment and left something in the room that I shouldn’t have. And for that, I will forever be grateful to her. With having my daughter in the hospital as many times as she has been, I have never felt so seen as I did during her last hospitalization because Amber was her nurse. Amber deserves a DAISY Award for her compassion and her care and her overall awareness of keeping my daughter safe.
