Amber is an incredible labor and delivery nurse! I had my 3rd child at LAMC earlier this summer and Amber was the most supportive and personal nurse I ever had. I had to be induced with Pitocin, and Amber stayed at my side and kept a close monitor on the baby for several hours. Despite our little one in an awkward position, she worked super hard to keep him monitored and did everything she could to prevent starting internal monitoring, which didn't sound great for baby. She really made me and my husband comfortable - and when baby came (no internal monitor needed!) she made all my (extensive!) family feel welcome. She was extremely personable and made my birthing experience special with attentive care, compassion and her specialty - ginger ale cranberry virgin cocktails!

Amber was very sweet and personable from the moment I met her. She could tell I was nervous about my surgery, and asked me questions and told me about herself to reassure me. When there were multiple nurses in the pre-op room, she could tell I was overwhelmed and made sure I had time for myself. Furthermore, she went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable - bringing me extra blankets without me even asking. After my surgery, I was scared and disoriented, and seeing Amber instilled me with a sense of calm and safety. She was very attentive to my needs, and also reassured my parents. The elevator was broken that day, and she helped us all the way from recovery to our car, and even provided me with a chapstick as my lips were cracked and bleeding from the procedure.
Without having Amber as my nurse, the procedure would have been far more frightening and less comfortable. I cannot commend her enough, and I'm truly so thankful she looked out for me and cared for me that day. Amber is the perfect example of a nurse who not only does their job well but who also cares deeply about their patients. The hospital is truly lucky to have her! I would like to thank her from the bottom of my heart.
