Amber Grimes has recently been recognized by a patient's family and an Assistant Clinical Director from Good Shepherd Longview, for her demonstration of both clinical excellence and extraordinary compassionate nature that she expresses to each patient, her commitment to clinical quality represents the best of nursing.
Amber had a stroke patient and recognized that his inability to participate in NIHSS was a clear indicator that he needed a higher level of care including a neurology consult. Her documentation, communication, and follow through with the patient's care received recognition from the patient’s family who contacted the Marshall Stroke Coordinator to praise her efforts. This is just one example of her skills as a clinician.
Our CEO recently received a letter from a patient's husband who was both impressed by and grateful for Amber's care for his wife. His words explain it best.
"As a business owner and employer, I have always noticed exceptional employees. You have one such employee working the fifth floor at your hospital in Marshall, her name is Amber Grimes, RN.
My wife was a patient in the ER Monday night and on Tuesday. All of your staff in the hospital was excellent and very nice to my wife and me. Amber Grimes went the extra mile on Tuesday and took the time to reassure my wife, visit with her briefly, and represent Good Shepherd in Marshall in the highest possible manner in professionalism and care of the patient.
I know you appreciate good things that are said about your people and your hospital. Please let Amber Grimes know of our appreciation of her. My wife and I could not have been treated any better anywhere."
Within a week's time, Amber has been recognized by individuals outside of GSMC-Marshall for her compassion, high quality and outstanding service. Combined, they comprise the first three of Good Shepherd's core values (CHOICE). We believe Amber not only represents Good Shepherd in the best light but also the profession of nursing.
