Recently Amelia attended the Tim Tebow's Night to Shine event. Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, held at churches around the country annually, on the same date, for people with special needs ages 14 and older. Amelia attended as the "date" of one of our heart failure patients who all the staff on our unit know due to frequent admissions. Amelia drove from Pittsburgh to West Virginia, got lost along the way but finally found the church where the event was being held. Amelia and her "date" had a great time. He was very excited to introduce his friends to his date. The pictures taken tell the story of an awesome nurse having fun with one of our patients who will be her friend for life. Amelia did not hesitate to agree to attend when asked, she looked forward to the event as much as her special patient did. I have great admiration for Amelia because of her efforts to bring happiness to another person just by sharing her time.
