Amelia Lindley provided exceptional, above and beyond nursing care and compassion to two of her patients. The patients were a married couple of 61 years. She placed the two of them into a semi-private room and pushed their stretchers together to make a “double bed,” as she called it. The wife was so concerned about her husband and laid on the stretcher next to him, holding his hand. She made an assumption the patients were going to both be admitted and wanted them to be as comfortable and supportive to one another as they could. In a busy ER world, this goes so far above and beyond – the compassion in such a busy department- we are so grateful for Amelia and thankful for the type of care she gives to our patients. What an excellent role model to the nursing profession. UF Health is so lucky to call Amelia one of their nurses.

This is certainly not the only amazing act of kindness Amelia has shown to her patients, but it definitely warrants a nomination.
