She treated me with the greatest respect and compassion and as if I was the only patient she had that day.
I'm writing to let you know about my experience with one of your very special care team members. I feel she should be recognized for going above and beyond job requirements. For years I have been to Kershaw Medical Center for my annual mammograms and this year was no different. Unfortunately, this year I received a call back from the mammogram department to schedule a repeat mammogram and ultrasound.
I returned to Kershaw Medical Center to have a breast biopsy. I was greeted by Amy Barrett, RN. Amy had the sweetest, kindest personality. She checked my vitals and explained what would happen during the procedure and assured me I would do fine and that the doctor was an excellent doctor. I told her about my mother having breast cancer and what an ordeal she had been through back in the 1970s. I became emotional talking about it and Amy asked if I would mind if she prayed with me. Her prayer gave me a calming peace. That prayer was the kindest, most compassionate help to me that day. I will always remember Amy’s extraordinary caring attitude. She treated me with the greatest respect and compassion and as if I was the only patient she had that day. In this world that we live in today, there is so much negativity! I wrote this letter because I want everyone to know of the Extra Special Care Amy provided!
