The patient’s family had to leave for several hours, and Amy placed on all of her PPE and spent hours in the patient’s room to console and care for the patient.
Amy demonstrated extreme professionalism during her pediatric rotation. Amy was assigned a patient who ended up being Covid positive and he was only a few months old. Given the option she decided to take the patient. The patient’s family had to leave for several hours, and Amy placed on all of her PPE and spent hours in the patient’s room to console and care for the patient. Her peers at times tagged her out to give her a break from the PPE, but she whole-heartedly cared for that patient. The mom was so thankful for the students that day and could not thank me and them enough for providing her son with so much love and compassion. I have watched Amy grow and evolve as a nursing student, and she proved herself on this day with such pride and confidence to take care of that baby. She’s going to be a fabulous nurse.
