I brought my dad to the Sanford ER on two separate occasions. During our first visit, my dad had Amy as his nurse. Amy showed so much compassion for my dad. She gave us useful information to help me get my dad the needed home care and was encouraging to me as my dad's advocate and care provider. When we returned to the ER about a week later, we did not have Amy as his nurse, but I saw Amy in the hall and she recognized me. Amy stopped by my dad's room to give him a hug and follow up on what was happening. My dad and I so appreciated her visit, she makes us feel so at ease. She feels like a long-time friend.
Sanford should be extra proud to have such a kind, compassionate, respectful and skilled nurse on staff. It's quite obvious how passionate Amy is about her career as an ER nurse. You cannot show that kind of compassion without truly meaning it! My dad is everything to me, and I want to thank Amy with all my heart!

I was in the ED last week - cared for by Amy - as I am here today. Last week she went above and beyond to comfort me and let me know I was doing the right thing by coming to the ER for care even though I was scared and embarrassed. She provided STELLAR care to me with excellent technique and bedside manner.
As I arrived in my room tonight, I was more than pleased to see she would again be my nurse. I trust her with my very life and gratitude is overflowing!
Amy spoke to me like I was an old friend. She has an amazing sense of humor and will make you smile. I've never laughed so much in the ER. Her care was excellent!
