When I was afraid at night, she sat with me at my bedside and explained so much to me and helped alleviate my fears.
Amy was my admitting nurse when I came to Jacksonville Mayo Clinic. She connected with me instantly and helped to ease my fears with my diagnosis of acute myeloma leukemia and she instantly made me feel better about everything. She has gone above and beyond since my initial admission to Jacksonville Mayo in May. Even though she has not been my nurse all throughout the entire five-week admission, she always came in to check on me, check my progress, see how I was doing, and offer much encouragement.
If it were not for Amy and the excellent care that she gave me throughout my five-week stay, I do not know that I would’ve gotten through my time here in the hospital. When my doctors informed me that I was in complete clinical remission from my cancer, she cried and shared tears of joy with me. When I was afraid at night, she sat with me at my bedside and explained so much to me and helped alleviate my fears.
It was my husband's birthday while I was a patient, and she went to the store and bought him a card and had her coworker pick up some candy for my hubby so I had something to give him. And she would not take a penny for it. Her compassion, empathy, and friendship are above and beyond anything from any nurse I have ever experienced. I can honestly say I truly love her.
