Her excellent work ethic is consistent, and you can count on her to stand up for what is right. She is dependable and trustworthy and sets the bar high for the department.
Amy is a shining example of the kind of nurse you hope to encounter in your medical care. She is caring, compassionate, professional, and knowledgeable. She works well with her team and goes above and beyond in every role she fills within the department. She keeps the patients at the center of every interaction and ensures they are well cared for, safe, and comfortable. Her excellent work ethic is consistent, and you can count on her to stand up for what is right. She is dependable and trustworthy and sets the bar high for the department. I know all of this because I have worked alongside her.
Fortunately, I have also known her as my nurse before I worked with her. As a patient, I was moving into another position at my job where I was losing my benefits. I explained that I had been having a difficult time getting my colonoscopy scheduled and would be losing my insurance at the end of the month. The waitlist was months long and each time I had called previously I was told that they couldn't get me in. Knowing I needed a colonoscopy due to a health condition, Amy assured me that she would help get me scheduled. She spoke with her providers and arranged a special time that I could come in. She made it seem to me like it was no big deal, when in reality I know that it is no easy task to rearrange procedure times with providers. When I arrived, she greeted me and took me to the nurse who would get me ready. She explained that I would be in good hands and made me feel as comfortable as possible, even getting me a warm blanket and giving me a hug before she hurried off to care for her own patients.
The thing that sets Amy apart from other is this is just who she is. This is how she treats all of her patients. She genuinely cares for others and goes out of her way to treat her patients like they are the most special patient she has. Amy deserves the DAISY Award because she is the nurse we should all strive to be.
