Amye treated me like I was the only patient on the floor, spending time answering all my questions and concerns.
I would like to take this opportunity to give my sincere thanks and to recognize the outstanding work of your staff during my emergency stay at your hospital earlier this year. I was transported by ambulance to your facility after it was determined I had a blocked bladder, and a Urology specialist was required. I am 62-years-old, and this is the first emergency hospital visit I required. To add to my trepidation was the fact that due to icy roads in the canyon, my wife of 42 years was unable to accompany me. To say I was nervous and frankly scared would be an understatement. Much to my delight, I ran into the most caring and professional staff I have ever encountered!
My nurse the first night, Amye, treated me like I was the only patient on the floor, spending time answering all my questions and concerns. She checked on me constantly and made me feel totally comfortable. The next day the care and professionalism continued. The second night Amye was again on duty, she greeted me like an old friend and put my anxiety totally at ease. She endured my talking non-stop about my grandkids and made me feel comfortable as a person could being in a strange place all alone. I actually slept most of the night even though I was attached to a catheter. The next morning, Amye came in and gave me the great news that I was getting to go home! Although all the nursing staff (and all the staff at your hospital) were excellent, I want to recognize Amye Kozlowski for her personality, her caring, and her ability to put me at ease in a very stressful situation. I have enclosed a card I would like for you to give to her with heartfelt thanks from my wife and me for the exemplary job she did. You should be very, very proud of the staff of professionals at your hospital!
