Anderson is being recognized for her dedication to patient care, her ability to connect, and her great empathy for those in need. Andi has been able to make a positive impact on one of our long-stay patients, who has severe disabilities. He has difficulty trusting and has been refusing care. Andi has been able to get him to participate in hygiene. She convinced him to take a bath. She played his favorite music, Led Zeppelin, and he put his head back and relaxed. He was able to wash himself, and he said he loved his bath. He also thanked her for not giving up on him. A few days later, she brought him back to the tub and he washed his hair, got a haircut, and beard trim. These events may seem small, but in order to get him to a facility, things like this needed to happen. We are all so pleased she was able to make that connection. She’s an incredible nurse and we appreciate her.

I overheard another RN talking about how a patient that’s been with them over two years had said to you, “thank you for not giving up on me,” while you helped him in the bathtub. You are such a wonderful, kind, and patient nurse-I’m sure that patient feels 110% better because of you taking the time out of your busy schedule to brighten his day with a bath and Led Zeppelin! You’re amazing.
