Andrea is very special. Her patients describe her as their "angel". She takes extra time to talk with them about what they are going through and listens with her heart and soul. She loves being a nurse especially a med surg nurse! She is a rare find of someone who is born to do this kind of caring work. She combines clinical expertise with kind, gentle caring and touch. She works very hard but never appears stressed or hurried. She can be firm with patients and gets them to do things that perhaps others have struggled with. Only one other nurse has received more recognition that she has during discharge calls and letters received. It is with her love for our unit and the nursing profession and above all her patients that I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this award.

Andrea is very special. Patients call her an angel. She spends extra time doing little things and pampering patients. For example, a patient that has been in the hospital for months finally gets to go home. She and another nurse did a pedicure and hired a hairdresser to come in the day of discharge and cut and style her hair. Andrea came in on her day off to help with a final dressing change and make sure her toenails were done. Amazing!
