Andrea always encouraged us to be an active participant in our child’s care. She spent time teaching us about our daughter's heart condition and what to expect as we continued through this journey. She always pushed us to ask questions during rounds, and she took time to teach us about our daughter’s medications. Knowing that our daughter would need to take medicine at home, she spent time teaching us how to administer them so we would feel comfortable giving medicine on our own. 

I think the moments that I will cherish the most are the ones that Andrea went above and beyond to allow us to be normal parents. The first moment I was able to take my daughter for a walk was because of Andrea. Even with cords, she found a way to make it possible because she knew it was important to us. As we were preparing for our daughter’s second heart surgery, Andrea went out of her way to change her schedule to make sure she was working that day. She wanted to make sure that she was here for our daughter and to support us. When I look back on this season of our lives, I know that Andrea will be someone that we will never forget. You can tell when someone loves what they do and I can say for certain that Andrea truly does.
