Andrea constantly goes above and beyond for her patients, providing the utmost compassionate care to them no matter what. I'll never forget when she was working an overnight shift and I was coming in to relieve her in the morning. We were doing a bedside report and every patient that we went in to see had the highest praise for Andrea.
There was one patient who was complaining about the shampoo and wishing she had "normal" shampoo to use instead of our hospital selection. We finished the report, Andrea left the hospital and I started my day. About an hour later Andrea shows back up to the unit and I immediately said, "What are you doing here? Go home and sleep!" Andrea said she went to get some regular shampoo for that patient that really wanted it. Andrea went to the store after her 13+ hour shift to get what her patient was requesting.
This is just a small example of how Andrea goes above and beyond for her patients and I promise you there are way more examples than just this one. She is constantly going out of her way for other coworkers, patients and really anyone she comes in contact with. She is the type of person that would stay extra hours to help with whatever you would need and would go above and beyond for anyone she meets. There is truly no better example of a compassionate and caring nurse.
