When I arrived at the ER, I had no idea what was in store. Being admitted was scary! When my nurse came to move me for the evening, he was funny and had light banter all the way up to the East Wing. He told me he would be my nurse for the evening and how I could reach him with the push of a button. He checked on me quite often, and I didn’t need to use the button to alert him. Each time he checked on me, it was lighthearted and made me feel safe. He reminded me that it’s his job to make sure I’m cared for and not feel like a burden. If I’m in pain, tell him, don’t wait. I was already terrified because of a looming surgical procedure! After surgery, I stayed the evening again, and he was my nurse again. He was just as helpful and lighthearted as the day before. Every nurse and LPN was fantastic and helpful, I just feel my nurse went above and beyond.
