Andrew Huggins has always been a compassionate nurse, but his recent act of kindness has really solidified his spot as a DAISY Award honoree. We had a patient who was put on hospice for his stage 4 malignant pancreatic cancer. He did not have much time left. His daughter, who visited him often, was getting married in a few weeks and stated that she wanted her dad to be there for it. Andrew went out of his way to contact people in the area who could help this patient's daughter say her vows in front of her father so that he could be a part of her marriage. Andrew was unbelievably thoughtful and considerate when thinking about this family.
