Angie motivated and inspired him.
My 92-year-old father was a patient in the acute brain unit at Reading Rehab. He was recovering from surgery on 2 large subdural hematomas. A very big surgery. When I arrived to visit one evening he was upset and said he had thrown his plate of food across the room at the nurse. I went looking for Angie to find out what had happened. She lightly laughed and said that wasn't quite the story. He was exhausted from several hours of OT and PT that morning and she was trying to feed him. He spit his food at her (only a little she said). She teased him, helped him with his frustrations. It was probably one of the most difficult times of his life; of our lives. But it was such a joy to watch her interaction every day with him. She motivated and inspired him. She was even protective of him since for the most part he did not know or understand what was happening to him. I was in awe of the patience and compassion of this nurse.

My dad is doing extremely well. He continues to improve daily and is almost self-sufficient. This may never have been possible without his stay at Reading Hospital Rehab, and certainly not without the support of your amazing staff. But I am especially grateful to Angie for the extraordinary love and care she gave my father.
