My three-month-old son was admitted to Jalila Hospital for more than a month and needed to do intervention. One night he had gotten so sick that he would not stop crying from the pain - the IV cannula in his hand had gotten infected. This was the hardest night of my life because I could not do anything to relieve my baby from his pain and suffering. I was constantly crying and felt so helpless. The nurse went above and beyond her nursing duties to give me the emotional support I needed. Her kind heart and gentle approach constantly reassured me that everything was going to be ok. She checked on me multiple times that night and gave me a “shoulder to cry on”. Even when she was not the assigned nurse for my son she would always make sure to stop by and say hello to us. She genuinely cares for her patients and treats them like her own children. There is no one more deserving of an award and I will continue to pray for her and visit her in the hospital with my happy and healthy son.
