Anita knew everything about my condition and made sure everyone tending to me had the important details. She was my greatest advocate.
Anita was so kind and so warm and so attentive and seemingly tireless in what must be extremely exhaustive duties. Her demeanor was always the same, warm, positive and friendly. She knew everything about my condition and made sure everyone tending to me had the important details. She was my greatest advocate. At my most vulnerable moment, with a room full of people performing a procedure to place a wire in my neck (temporary pacemaker), mask on, protective cloth over most of my face for my protection, limited light and air, just trying to stay calm and breathe (wondering would I ever see my wife and kids again), she squeezed my hand as if she was family and (repeatedly) asked if I was okay. I can't tell you how comforting that was, how caring, how meaningful it was at a really tough time. It was nothing short of an act of love for a stranger, and I will be forever grateful. I told my wife the next day when she visited and she stuck around an extra hour and a half just to meet and thank this angel. To me,Anita is EVERYTHING a nurse should be.
