Ann has been a nurse for 55 years. She is a graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing and is a proud alumnus. She recently gathered with fellow alumni to welcome Magnet Surveyors to our hospital. She still works 3 days a week in Electroconvulsive Therapy Department and has another part-time job at Talley Eye Care. She is a true inspiration to others. Patients who come for ECT are often apprehensive. If they do not see her when they first walk in the door, they immediately ask where she is. Ann has the respect of her nursing peers, psychiatrists, and anesthesiologists that work with her. Our Medical Director often jokes with her that she can't take a vacation because things run more smoothly when she is there. She is a patient advocate above all. She always puts them first and goes the extra mile. She has been through a lot of changes in healthcare over the years and always adapts well. We all like to say she is our hero.
