We believe that Ann assessed my situation both quickly and accurately, described my Medicare benefits thoroughly, and arranged for services to begin promptly.
This afternoon, Ann Ginnevan spent an hour and a half with me and my wife enrolling me in the Duke Hospice Program. This letter is to commend her for the services she provided to us today. I am a retired audiologist who held faculty appointments in medical schools and graduate training programs for 38 years. As with anyone, I was apprehensive about the decision to enroll in the hospice program. Ann spent about 1 1/2 hours asking critical questions about my diseases, treatments with pills, living conditions, my understanding of my medical status, and expectations from Medicare and Hospice. She made observations about my physical status and expectations for future changes based on her review of my voluminous medical chart and her physical examination of me. Though I have previously had excellent medical advice, Ann drew conclusions and made observations that were insightful and that others had not made before. We believe that Ann assessed my situation both quickly and accurately, described my Medicare benefits thoroughly, and arranged for services to begin promptly. At a time when my wife and I felt extremely vulnerable, Ann has provided us with care that was exceptional.
