Wow, where/how do I begin to thank Anna Dinsmore, RN for her wonderful care with my daughter and her husband?
L was admitted to Labor and Delivery on Friday to be monitored for high blood pressure. She was later told she would be delivering and not being sent home as she expected.
We found out Anna had come in early to cover for another nurse. I am so glad she made that choice.
As was to be expected with a first baby, my daughter was a little scared. Anna had a very soothing way of chasing her fears away. She answered all of L's questions as well as those of her husband and me. Questions were answered in ways we could understand. Not once speaking "over her/our heads".
Anna explained each step of the labor and birthing process, from administering the Oxytocin to the pushing to the delivery. She was with L each step of the way. She was a fantastic cheerleader/coach when it came time to "get the show on the road". Her and my son-in-law made a great team keeping L focused on breathing and pushing.
We were all happy the process went quick. The baby was born at 1:44 am on Saturday morning in a room of true professionals. I was able to snap a quick picture of Anna, L, and the baby, a great addition to his baby book!
L's in-laws are both in the medical field at WellSpan. They too were impressed with Anna's professionalism and knowledge. Anna is a true asset to the labor and delivery unit of WellSpan York Hospital.
