Mom was admitted for observation and pain management, and her nurse was Anna Grasso. My mom had started to have horrible pain. Anna sought out the surgeon and told them they needed to return to see her immediately. The surgeon came back and agreed to take my mom down to surgery immediately, where they found her colon was perforated. Due to Anna's fast thinking and making sure she got a hold of the surgeon, I truly feel that if Anna had not recognized the seriousness of the situation and had not acted quickly, the outcome of all this would have ended differently. Anna went above and beyond to advocate for my mom; I think she is alive because of her. Anna also continues to visit my mom even though she was in a different department.
