She knows how to speak with people in a way that makes them comfortable and less worried or afraid. She's seen me through so many tears.
My story started in January of 2020. I was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 32. One week later, I found out I was pregnant. Then, to top it off, the pandemic hit. It was a scary and confusing time for me and my family and friends. My first day of chemo (while pregnant) brought me to CHC LHCP, on what happened to be my 33rd birthday. I was so scared and worried for my unborn baby and my body. When I met Anna, she was covered from head to toe in covid gear, or PPE. Even with the mask and eyewear, I could feel her love, care, and positive energy beaming through. We got to know each other quickly. Anytime she had to "push chemo," I was able to talk with her. About 20 minutes of time, just her and I. Even though chemo is tough, I looked forward to talking with her. She listens so well, with patience and understanding. She relates but never takes your pain and minimizes it. She knows how to speak with people in a way that makes them comfortable and less worried or afraid. She's seen me through so many tears. Now my daughter is 3 years old and loves Anna as well. She's a light on the absolute hardest and darkest times in my life. Knowing her and having her at CHC is a gift!
