The patient is the full-time caregiver for his wife who has dementia. He expressed his concerns about the care of his wife while he was hospitalized with his case manager, Anne Allen. Anne took the extra time to listen, reassure and explore community agencies that could assist. Anne engaged the CMA to assist. The CMA employed true care and empathy, she identified a few agencies with reputable reviews, obtained pricing, made introductions and gave an enormous of love to the patient and his spouse. Our days are non-stop busy with important duties and tasks that can get in the way of seeing the heart of our patients. However, Anne and this CMA stopped what they were doing to meet an urgent emotional need that allowed the patient to stay focused on his recovery. They are shining examples of Extending the Health Ministry of Christ.
