Annette's expertise and calmness in handling emergencies and every day workloads shows in the care she delivers. The other day a patient in labor went to complete very quickly, the doctor was not going to make the delivery. Annette called for help in her labor room. As I was helping Annette to deliver the baby, I noticed her calm hands and voice as she delivered the newborn and handed it up to the mother. She continued to collect the cord blood, deliver the placenta, and soothingly talk with the new Mom and Dad. Nurse deliveries are usually stressful as it is not part of our everyday work. Annette carries this care and compassion over into her everyday life.

Last month my father suddenly became ill and was rushed to the EC for symptoms of a stroke while I was enroute to assist my mother with a medical emergency in another state. I called Annette and asked if she could go to the ED and give me a report of the severity of my father's illness. Annette was able to communicate to me what was going on. Many times she went back to check on my father and husband to see how things were going. After the 12.5 shift was over she spent 4 hours making sure Dad was ok and transferred to the floor. I don't know how I could have coped without her intervention, compassion and and caring. Throughout the weekend, Annette continually offered help and support to my family. She is an outstanding person and nurse. She has the "Healers Touch".
