Every time Annette came in, though, I immediately felt at ease and as if things were being taken care of, and I didn't need to worry.
I had an ultrasound on my birthday that was supposed to be a fun surprise for me to take home to my mom and sister, only to find out my pregnancy was ectopic and absolutely non-viable. I came into the hospital very confused after only being told I needed to report to the maternity ward, and the doctor would go over everything more in depth when I arrived.

Two other nurses were very confused by me being there and asked me questions that I didn't have the answers to, and felt like they were getting upset with me for not knowing. Annette immediately realized I was distraught and upset, and took me under her arm and led me to the registration desk, and explained to the intake nurse who had been asking me the questions what was happening, and made me feel less pressure and guilt about the entire situation. I had waited about 6 hours total between waiting for blood work to be drawn and the medication to be ordered due to the sensitivity of the situation. Every time Annette came in, though, I immediately felt at ease and as if things were being taken care of, and I didn't need to worry. She had taken the time to talk to me and explained what was happening, what we were waiting on, and why everything was taking so long. She absolutely belongs in L&D, and I could not have asked for a better nurse to get me through the worst birthday.
