In September we received the worst news a parent can receive. Our son had stage 4 cancer. He was brought in through the ER and admitted to Gen 5 Acute. We were devastated.
Our son received the best possible care from all the nurses and staff. Annie however stood out. She was awesome. She fought for testing and treatment for him that really turned him around. I am an oncology nurse but got to be 'just mom' when Annie was his nurse. I didn't feel like I had to be a nurse and mom too.
She was kind, gentle, compassionate, and caring. We never had to ask or wait for anything. She and the staff of Gen 5 made a horrible time bearable. She deserves to be recognized for going above and beyond in her care of our son.
