I was involved in a motorcycle accident with my brother and I fractured my back, ribs, and pelvis. After 2 days of being in the hospital, I got Ani as my nurse. She was so sweet, kind, loving, cheerful, and funny that it made my pain more bearable and my stay less traumatic.
Besides Ani having an amazing personality, she was also my nurse when I took my "first steps" in my brace after the accident and surgery. She was there to help me walk over to my brother and she was there to move me out of the ICU and into another room. Through it all, the one thing that Ani always said that inspired and helped me the most was "keep your chin up because we are fabulous". This both made me smile and take pride to keep going and get better with excitement. Even out of the hospital, this phrase goes through my head every time I have to get up or do any large movements. For this inspirational reminder, I thank Ani.
