Any Canizales has worked on downtime procedures for approximately two years here in the ED. She's been actively working with other units, doctors, and leaders to establish procedures and has been consistently disseminating education to ER staff. She's created a huge vat of resources for everyone to refer back to. She saw the need and started a plan to fix it. As we all know, everything hit the fan on May 8th, and our entire system was thrown into disarray. Thanks to Any and her processes, care, and knowledge, the ER may have been a bit chaotic at first, but we quickly fell into a groove. Any has worked tirelessly while simultaneously transitioning into a new role on the unit to make sure that downtime in the ER went as smoothly as possible. From working extra days to coming early and staying late... she's been present to help guide the unit through.
