My son was brought to your hospital via Care Flight. He was not in good shape and they had to work to get him stable again. There are so many people that were so wonderful and helpful, but this one nurse, April Chavez, stood out and even on her shift that she did not have him, took the time to come to his room to check on him and me during her lunch break. April went above and beyond and provided extraordinary care. She took excellent care of him as well as took care of the family, making sure we were okay as well. She talked me through things and explained them in layman terms so that we understood exactly what was going on with him and what we could possibly expect next. I cannot tell you the comfort that she brought me and the exceptional care she gave my son.

I am still super emotional about the entire experience, but getting to know and love April was the best thing that came out of this whole emergency situation. Even though I live in Texas and have had to come back home, I will definitely keep up with her and stop by to say hi to her when I come back to visit my son, who I know she helped save! God puts certain people and angels in your life and I truly believe he sent April to us and to be my son's nurse.
