I would like to begin with a little background of my father. Northeast Georgia Medical Center was the third hospital that he graced in a span of three and a half months. Having several medical issues, it has been very important to us, as his family, that he receives the best medical care possible. We lost my mother, my father's best friend, during this time. It has been extremely difficult for him. We have encountered several medical professionals, and some have been outstanding. However, I didn't realize the true aura of a nurse who breathes compassion and lives for their patients' well-being while truly understanding the limitations that their patients might have until I had the pressure of encountering Aprilea.

With great wonder for this nurse's skills, I would like to nominate Aprilea for the DAISY Award. I feel extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to get to know her. She has exceeded my expectations every day that she has cared for my father. Her attentiveness to strive for the best she can give is undoubtedly present. Aprilea has a true aura of compassion and kindness that cannot be denied. It is obvious that she truly loves her job and cares for her patients. She is one of the very best, and an angel to some.
