My 15-year-old son made the devastating choice to take his own life. He lived for 4 days until we had to make the most difficult decision we have and will ever have to make. Words will never describe the pain and anguish our friends and family have and still go through. Every staff member we had, nurses and his doctor, were amazing. Apryl stood out to us and always will. She never left my son’s side and talked to him every time she was in. Her patience, warmth, and kindness were felt by everyone who entered the room. She never looked at us with pity but only with understanding. Apryl took the time to explain everything to us multiple times, if needed, and got us everything we needed. When it was time to do the honor walk, she came in on her personal time to continue to support us and provide guidance. She has a warmth about her that makes you feel a little better during the most difficult time we will ever face. I will never be able to thank her enough for treating complete strangers like her family. She is truly a blessing and an amazing person who makes an impact on people’s lives and the way they remember a terrible situation. I will now remember that there are such kind, selfless, and thoughtful people still out there.
