I am writing to proudly nominate Ariell Lipsky, RN, Glenview Cancer Center, for the DAISY Award. Ariell treats our cancer patients like family. She forms beautiful relationships with patients and their families, getting to know them outside of cancer and making them feel valued as more than just a patient. Ariell shows that it is acceptable and even encouraged to show emotion in cancer care, something that can often be missing in modern medicine. It is not uncommon for patients to include Ariell in their celebration of life or for families to invite Ariell to their loved one's funeral. Ariell goes above and beyond as a nurse, and our patients often request to have her as their infusion nurse that day. When working with Ariell, she asks the provider clinical questions that show how intelligent and sharp she is. She picks up on small but important details in the patient's care. She is a critical thinker and a problem solver. She is a trustworthy second set of eyes during a very busy clinic or infusion schedule. Ariell greatly decreases my stress as a provider. She is a wonderful collaborator and team player. Glenview Cancer Center is lucky to have Ariell in so many ways.
