She made me feel a sense of comfort in a devasting situation.  It is evident that she loves what she does and performs her duties with the utmost compassion and care.
I would like to nominate Ashley Adams for the DAISY Award in recognition of her exceptional nursing care during a MOBI ECMO trip from Banner Thunderbird back to our home hospital Banner Tucson (BUMC-T). As the perfusionist, I worked alongside her and the CT Surgeon as we initiated ECMO and transported a critically ill cardiac patient back to our hospital. The patient was unstable, as all are requiring ECMO, and the situation demanded quick thinking, a calm demeanor, and great clinical decision-making, which Ashley displayed in abundance. Throughout the entire process, she helped manage the complexities of the situation, all while maintaining an unwavering commitment to patient safety and well being. Her ability to collaborate effectively with me, the cardiothoracic surgeon, and the EMS staff was integral to the success of the trip. Ashley's dedication, expertise, and the compassionate patient care she provided made a difference in the outcome of this transport and showed she embodies what this honor represents.

My dad had a heart attack while driving and had a car accident.  He was airlifted from Sierra Vista and flown to Tucson.  My sister and I are from Louisiana and flew out immediately.

As our dad lay there in the ICU, all kinds of emotions were going through us.  Ashley Adams was one of his nurses.  We couldn’t have been more blessed.  Watching her care for our dad, the patience she had with all our questions, and her genuine love for her job was a godsend.

She consistently checked on my sister and me, gave us her attention when we needed medical things explained and listened to our concerns.  She made me feel a sense of comfort in a devasting situation.  It is evident that she loves what she does and performs her duties with the utmost compassion and care.

She deserves to be recognized for her unwavering spirit of care for those who cannot care for themselves.

God bless the entire staff at Banner.
