I am a newer nurse on SSU and had my first surgery in December. Ashley Caes is the one who recognized I did not feel as well as I had claimed at work the night before. She took over for the night shift after my surgery. She did an amazing job making sure my mom and I were comfortable and answering any questions we had. She was also very good at keeping my pain under control.
She is part of a top-notch team, not only in caring for one of their own nurses but to all the patients. It's never easy being a patient when you are a nurse, especially with an infant and two dogs at home. Ashley helped alleviate my anxiety about my kids. I could not think of a better nurse to receive this award.
